Our client is currently seeking an experienced Shift Manager for a role in the North Cork area. The successful candidate will report to the site Production Manager and will work with the Production Manager and wider Site Management team to achieve overall site targets and meet/exceed customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Health & Safety: Promote a safety culture within the site, monitor adherence to all Environmental, Health & Safety standards and procedures, through permits, LOTO, accident and near-miss reporting, and PPE controls, among other safety initiatives.
2. People: Lead and manage a team of production operators, operator workgroups, and PS’s. Support recruitment, probationary reviews, manage performance, and IR/ER issues.
3. Cost: Manage payroll, yield, and ingredients usage through internal IT systems.
4. Customer: Manage delivery times while adhering to good food hygiene and GMP standards. Close out on customer complaints and ensure implementation of actions following audits.
5. Quality: RFT, Hygiene, Incident reporting, and change control.
6. Reliability: Throughput, efficiency, and OEE.
7. Environment: COD and Hydraulic loading incident reporting and investigating.
What the successful candidate will bring to the role:
1. Third Level qualification in a relevant discipline (Food Science, Technology, Engineering).
2. Previous relevant experience in a similar role.
3. Proven excellence across the key competencies identified above.
4. Capable of understanding the underlying processes across the full remit of the role.
5. Strong people management skills, business acumen, customer focus, and commercial awareness.
6. Passion for applying key continuous improvement principles in a fast-moving production environment; proven record in maintaining safe work environments.
7. Performance-driven with a proven track record of achievement, high integrity, and capability to exercise sound judgment in decision-making.
