Financial Controller
My client is a fast-growing group in the FMCG sector with operations in Ireland and Central Europe.
Due to expansion, they are now recruiting for a newly created Financial Controller position.
This role offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to a variety of management/financial/commercial accounting and financial analysis aspects and can be described as challenging and hands-on.
The role will involve working closely with a number of portfolio companies across FMCG, retail, and foodservice offerings, along with potential to assess M&A targets, and work with acquired entities to develop financial processes and internal controls, to ensure consolidated reporting is aligned, robust, and timely.
Main Duties:
* Consolidation of group accounts
* Liaising with portfolio companies to ensure alignment of P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow structures and reporting in consolidated report.
* Managing Group and head office audit process.
* Coordinating and preparing Board Reporting and Investor Relations communications.
* Preparation of monthly management accounts and coordinating the monthly management reporting pack with actionable insights for 2 smaller portfolio companies and the head office management companies.
* Coordinating with bookkeepers in 2 small portfolio companies and in charge of all month-end reviews ensuring the balance sheet and P&L are fully reconciled and backed up.
* Managing and processing accounting and compliance of head office management companies, payroll, intercompany agreements and transfers, VAT, and CRO returns, etc.
* Assist in Budget preparation of portfolio companies.
* Preparation and assistance with financial and project analysis.
* Continually improve the systems, controls, and processes within our portfolio companies to lay strong foundations to scale the companies and finance function effectively.
* Assist with due diligence analysis of target companies.
* Assist with other Ad-hoc requirements.
* Report directly to CFO and have the ability to communicate effectively with other members of senior management within our portfolio companies.
Requirements:
* Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA)
* Ideally trained with a Big 4 / Top 10 firm
* FMCG experience would be beneficial
* Excellent Microsoft Excel skills, with financial modelling an advantage
* Reliable, self-starter, motivated, pro-active, willing to take on responsibility
* Capable of working on a small team but must be a team player
* Ability to deliver to tight deadlines when necessary
* Must be an excellent communicator and be able to deal effectively with non-financial people
* German language knowledge would be beneficial but not required
