DescriptionARI manages the entire retail business at Dublin & Cork Airport under the brand Dublin and Cork Airport Dutyfree. The retail proposition is divided into three main categories – Perfume and Cosmetics, Liquor and Tobacco and Souvenirs/Accessories. We sell products from leading local and international brands including MAC, Clarins, Chanel, Estee Lauder, Jameson, Guinness and Avoca amongst many others. ARI have circa 350 staff based in stores across both Terminals in Dublin airport and over 3,500 staff globally. This role In this role you would be responsible for effectively managing and supporting the operation across the departments on a shift basis, ensuring all activity is aligned towards achieving sales and operational objectives. You will implement the category strategy from Central Support teams by establishing goals and action plans to maximize sales and productivity. You will ensure that retail team members deliver a great customer experience, visual presentation, operations and loss prevention standards in line with our ARI processes. Key to this role is achieving sales budgets through execution of visual merchandising guidelines and planograms while embedding a ‘customer before task’ ethos by motivating and coaching staff using ARI Selling Skills as the lever. In this role you will report to one of the Retail Managers based in Dublin. Typically, you would be responsible for up to twenty staff on any given shift. Shift hours vary throughout the year but at most times the shifts operate from 4am – midnight. This is a great opportunity for a high performing retail manager/supervisor who would like to work in a fast-paced airport environment and with luxury brands and products. Lots of on the job training and support will be provided and successful candidates who perform well in the role will have career progression opportunities opened to them in the future. Opportunities may arise in Dublin or even in countries outside of Ireland. ARI are currently in 14 different countries across the world and any high performing manager will be encouraged or requested to seek and take up international assignments within the company.ResponsibilitiesBe fully accountable for performance of your department on a shift basis
Ensure each Team Member has a clear understanding of their objectives, both in terms of sales and customer service both on a shift basis and via the formal PM process
Ensure Product Knowledge training is ongoing and staff are engaging with the Knowledge Hub
Act as key support and escalation point for staff as necessary with relevant stakeholders and escalate to Retail Manager where appropriate
Communicate departmental priorities and updates on progress versus same throughout the shift via real time data from Retail Category Manager
Increase sales versus budget and versus last year within departments by focussing on PAS (Passenger Average Spend) as a key metric.
Ensure highest shop floor standards are maintained at all times within departments
Ensure supervising and staffing levels are correct to meet the demands of the business via completion of the Deployment Planner via the administrative process
Actively manage the performance of team members through regular reviews and performance log/PDR process
Encourage professional development and mobility within the team member group to support global succession planning.
Encourage positive employee relations environment by addressing issues quickly and escalating as appropriate.

Proven track record in managing and motivating staff in a fast-moving retail environment
Proven track record in delivering on sales targets
Excellent understanding of retail standards
Excellent understanding of Microsoft Outlook (Navision desirable)
