The role:
Due to the strong growth experienced by the VAT department in recent years, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a VAT Associate Director to work in our VAT Tax team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and driven candidate who is keen to progress within Ireland’s fastest growing professional services firm. The position offers excellent prospects for progression and on-going career development. This role will involve providing VAT support to Directors and Partners on tax advisory and liaising with Irish and international clients and advising on all relevant VAT issues. To be considered for this role you will have a relevant tax, legal or accountancy qualification and a minimum of six years in a professional tax, legal or accountancy environment working within VAT.
Main responsibilities:
•Manage junior members and managers of the VAT team;
•Provide VAT tax services for a broad range of clients in a variety of industries and sectors;
•manage the implementation of a number of different projects at any one time, including meeting deadlines, prioritization and billings;
•Contribute to the tax practices development by proactively managing existing clients and identifying potential opportunities to undertake additional/new client work;
•identifying tax planning opportunities; and
• The strong management of the department’s budget to include issuing fees and fee collection targets.
Skills and attributes:
• Minimum 6 years' post qualification experience required, Chartered Tax Advisor. Big 4/Top 10 firm or legal practice preferred;
• Strong technical knowledge and proven ability to identify opportunities for clients;
• Strong interpersonal skills are essential together with proven people development skills to support the development of the more junior staff;
• A thorough knowledge of VAT and relevant legislation; and
• International/cross-border tax experience helpful but not essential.
