Description
The Plant Manager creates the culture of excellence and leads plant operations with overall responsibilities for:
1. Empowering a team of supervisors and their teams to work in a zero-injury facility.
2. Provide first time quality production.
3. Deliver on time and complete shipments to our customers.
4. Continually improve processes to enhance product value.
5. Support the growth and development of team members.
Job Responsibilities
1. Direct ownership of Production Departments: Processing, Fitting, Welding, Painting, Panel, High Tensile, Trim, Loading, Production Control, Shipping and Receiving departments for days & nights.
2. Dotted line guidance, cooperation and collaboration with the Safety, Maintenance and Quality teams.
3. Support Purchasing, Engineering, IT, Human Resources, Scheduling, and Accounting groups.
4. Coordinate plant activities through the planning with departmental supervisors to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
5. Develop and control profits, plans, and budget.
6. Implement cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages, and salaries.
7. Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards.
8. Control and minimize labor overtime, freight, and repair expenses.
9. Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment; replace or adjust plant facilities and equipment when necessary.
10. Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.
11. Incorporates shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel.
12. Provides direction, development, and leadership to production supervisors.
Qualifications
1. BS degree in Business Management or related field.
2. Proven work experience as a plant manager or similar responsibilities.
3. Proven managerial experience in a manufacturing environment.
4. Fabrication knowledge a plus.
5. Knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, planning, resource allocation and human resources).
6. Familiarity with industry standard equipment and supporting uptime programs.
7. Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, inventory, and month end processes.
8. Computer literacy with the ability to build spreadsheets, analyze data, generate reports and present recommendations.
9. Ability to create accountability and to lead by example.
10. Strong team building, decision-making, and people management skills.
Location: This position is based at our facility located at 125 Pequanoc Dr, Tallapoosa, GA. The candidate must be able to work on-site full-time at this location.
