Position Summary
This is an analyst role whose focus will be to operationalise the use of big data, generating insights that convert the potential value of big data into real, tangible business value. Typically, that means translating insights and patterns embedded in our data assets into language the business can understand and seek opportunities to apply predictive analytics to solve business issues and drive value and service economies.
Key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) the following:
1. Importing, cleaning, transforming, validating or modelling data with the purpose of understanding or making conclusions from the data for decision making purposes.
2. Design and build dashboards, relational databases for collecting data and building or designing data input or data collection screens.
3. Analysing data and applying statistical techniques to detect and interpret patterns and trends, assess data quality and eliminate irrelevant data.
Education / Experience Requirements
• Degree, preferably a Postgrad with background in Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematical Sciences or Business Analytics / Information.
• Ability to liaise across functions & navigate multi-layered / multi-system data structures.
• Experience of providing administrative support for web-based applications in quality or logistics or supply chain or transport.
• Background in / Experience of Business Process Engineering methods.
• Minimum 3 Years SAP, SAP BW, strong SQL skills, & experience with visualisation software such as Tableau or Power BI.
• This role requires a Systems Thinker who can visualise data in its process flow & depict it visually to variable audiences. This requires a strong mix of sufficient technical ability coupled with creativity & excellent communication & presentation skills.
• Transformational Change / Project Admin or Support Experience desirable.
• Advantageous would be previous analytical work in L&D or Supply Chain.
