The Opportunity
Accenture is looking to recruit capital project practitioners within our Infrastructure & Capital Projects (I&CP) team in the UK. We are seeking individuals with broad experience and knowledge of capital project across the lifecycle. Capabilities sought include skills that help our clients’ projects perform. This includes areas such as: project controls, cost management, planning & scheduling, risk and the ability to setup, design and delivery interventions. This includes working with colleagues across the Industry X practice to consider the full lifecycle of their projects. As Industry X, we digitise, optimise and transform our clients’ traditional ways of delivering throughout the project lifecycle.
In this you will:
* Utilise industry and region-specific knowledge and tools to advise and support clients in their project controls needs.
* Draft and present project controls reports and proposals to client leadership.
* Develop enduring, trust-based relationships with people at all career levels, both professionally and personally, internally, and externally. This includes receiving and providing (based on experience) coaching and career development across the Industry X practice.
* Use data and analytics to drive decision making, implement new ways of working and change operational behaviors.
* Provide points of view on key industry challenges and trends and present an impetus for change in industry context.
* Help clients target and deliver value through the digital transformation of their capital projects activities.
* Help shape, sell and deliver projects that create tangible value by designing clients’ future ways of working – operating models, business functions and processes, and technology.
* Support and lead (depending on scale of opportunity) the sales process from origination to successful closing (including offering fine tuning, solution shaping, proposal preparation, client presentations).
* Support client innovation workshops using a human-centered approach to solve problems, frame opportunities through collaboration and co-creation.
The Person
The successful candidate will have good knowledge in one or more core Infrastructure & Capital Projects industries (listed below). They will apply project controls methodologies combined with people, process, technology and data to implement improvement programmes/projects within our target industries.
Target industries are asset- and energy-intensive industries including:
* Energy, utilities (water, power, nuclear), chemicals.
* Infrastructure and networks including road & rail, telecoms, construction services.
Candidates should be willing to travel to domestic and international locations.
We are looking for experience across a selection of the following skills:
* Experience of key project controls disciplines such as schedule, change, risk and cost management within large, complex infrastructure and capital projects.
* Experience with one or more project controls tools such as Primavera P6, Active Risk Manager, Ecosys, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Oracle Unifier, Trimble ViewPoint and others.
* Experience of successful delivery of complex and ambitious projects from a professional programme & project management (client facing) perspective to time, cost and quality objectives.
* Consistent track record in winning work for themselves and their team and delivering a high value programme or portfolio management service to the client (or demonstrable transferable skills and experience).
* Developing the argument, and implementation roadmap for clients’ transformation journeys.
* Work effectively as a supportive team member or a domain expert and have the ability to lead delivery teams.
* Professional experience in business development support, RFP response and consulting services sales.
Set yourself apart if you can demonstrate some of the areas below:
* Professional project controls or management qualification, such as the APM, PMI, PRINCE2.
* Knowledge of existing, new and emerging digital technologies and being able to identify use cases to apply them across Capital Projects processes.
* Has sales support experience with new clients or growing existing clients with experience in business development support, RFP response and consulting services sales.
* Developing the argument, solution architecture, and implementation roadmap for clients’ transformation journeys.
* Has worked in consulting team delivery and depending on experience team leading roles with a track record of managing and delivering projects successfully on time and on budget.
* Knowledge and understanding of different types of business and operating models (existing, new, emerging and hybrid).
* Comprehensive design thinking and workshop facilitation experience.
* Experience of large scale delivery and organisational change management associated with it.
* Good client contacts and industry network is highly desirable.
