Reporting To: Head Chef / Catering Manager Job Summary: To ensure the cleaning of the main kitchen as per main kitchen schedule and HACCP and assist chefs as required.

Key TasksHACCP systems are followed.Follow all cleaning specifications for the main kitchen.Co-operate with the EHO with their visits to the Catering department.Monitoring temperature control, recording of fridge and hot/cold food temperatures and informing Head Chef/ Supervisor of any incorrect readings.Assists chefs when required.Ordering weekly stock from Stores and stock rotation of goods in accordance with Hospital policy.Ensuring all charts are filled out correctly and any problems to the Supervisor / Head chef immediately.Report any hazards or faulty equipment to the Supervisor / head chef immediately.To ensure all quality monitors are carried out and adhered to.Assist in the restaurant and ward kitchens as required.Participate in training and retraining, including all statutory training e.g., manual handling, fire safety, children's first etc., to ensure training is completed on workday.Uniform policy is strictly adhered to.Implement quality standards ensuring that a quality service is provided at all times.Comply with, and observe, Health & Safety Regulations, ensuring safe working practices and a safe working environment.Undertake any other duties that may reasonably be required from time to time.Physical Skills:Loading food / stock (on tables, counters, shelves and to/from delivery trolleys) and moving trolleys.
Decanting of food items into freezers & fridges, dry goods into the dry good storeroom.Physical Demands:Movement of food trolleys.Manual washing of pots/ pans from the main kitchen.Standing preparing food.Lifting stocks / supplies.PERSON SPECIFICATIONAbility to work under pressure and adaptable.Basic but sound food hygiene knowledge.Conscientious, flexible with a 'can do' attitude.Team working and good organisational ability.Courteous, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality is essential.CLOSING DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS 8TH April 2025
