Are you interested in supporting the Citizens Information Service to achieve its strategic goals and develop advocacy services and activities which underpin the rights of people accessing information to their rights and entitlements?
The North Leinster Citizens Information Service invites expressions of interest for appointment as a member of the Board of Directors (Three Vacancies).
North Leinster Citizens Information Service – Kildare, Longford, Louth, Meath, Westmeath
The Citizens Information Service provides comprehensive information on all aspects of public services and entitlements for people in Ireland. This is done by providing face-to-face information on public and social services on a drop-in and appointment basis. The CIS also provides an advocacy service for its clients. In 2024, the North Leinster CIS provided service to over 73,697 clients.
The NLCIS is seeking to recruit three individuals to join our Board, which is made up of committed, experienced volunteers from across the voluntary, community and Public Sectors. The board plays a very important role as the governing authority for the organisation and there is an agreed priority to recruit individuals of diverse backgrounds and experience. In addition to participating at in-person board meetings, directors will also play a part by attending and contributing at board sub-committees, which include:
* Finance, Audit and Risk Committee
* Governance Review Group
* Nominations Committee
* Service Delivery and Development Committee
We welcome applicants with expertise in the above identified areas and those who may have a particular focus on the following competencies:
* HR
* Financial Management/Internal Audit
We would greatly welcome applications from those with knowledge of Citizens Information Services. If you believe you would add value to our board but don’t meet all the criteria we have laid out, we would still love to hear from you. Please explain the value you would bring in your application. In-person induction will be provided to successful candidates.
These are voluntary Boards and while no fees will be paid to Board members, travel and subsistence expenses will be paid when applicable.
