Senior Environmental Health and Safety Specialist - County Louth - 12-Month Contract

Responsibilities:
1. Ensure compliance with statutory legislation and internal policies and procedures.
2. Coordinate environmental controls and ensure compliance with IPC license.
3. Ensure records are maintained. Generate reports in a timely and efficient manner.
4. Liaise with external EHS Agencies e.g., EPA. Ensure compliance with all environmental licenses for the facility.
5. Coordinate site environmental waste management and drive continuous improvements.
6. Ensure compliance with Battery, WEEE and Waste Packaging Directives for Europe.
7. Carry out risk assessments and implement appropriate control measures.
8. Implement and update EHS control procedures as required.
9. Develop training programmes and provide training on EHS.
Requirements:
10. Degree in Science, Engineering and/ or health & Safety is required (Level 8).
11. Postgraduate in Health & Safety as a minimum (Level 9)
12. Related pharmaceutical/biosafety industry experience – is required and experience working within a regulatory environment is required.
13. Demonstrate experience in managing EHS Teams either within the Department or as part of a program initiative.
14. Leading Root Cause investigations.
15. Attention to detail and sound scientific problem solving will be fundamental to this role with experience in an Occupational Health and Safety role in a manufacturing or process industry.
16. Have a strategic mindset, seeing ahead to future possibilities and translating them into breakthrough strategies.
