Job Title: Insurance Manager
Location: Remote
Abrivia is currently recruiting for an Insurance Manager to lead the Irish operations of a Managing General Underwriter (MGU) recently acquired by a global company and now underwritten by one of the world's leading insurance firms.
This role is initially fully remote; however, there are plans to establish a Head Office, and a hybrid model will be introduced in the future.
This role will drive market growth in Ireland, working closely with Head Office, with a long-term plan to establish a team in Ireland for both domestic and international business.
The MGU operates in a fully Business-to-Consumer (B2C) model, with a call/sales centre based in the UK.
Your Role:
Develop and implement a strategy to grow the Irish market, with a focus on long-term expansion.
Act as the key regulatory and compliance lead for the Irish market.
Oversee marketing, distribution, and operational strategies, ensuring alignment with local regulations.
Manage financial performance, budget allocation, and overall profitability.
Work closely with Head Office to align business objectives and drive international growth.
Analyse market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities.
Ensure effective oversight of the outsourced UK call/sales centre while maintaining service quality.
Build strong relationships with key industry stakeholders, including brokers, regulators, and insurers.
Your Skills:
Experience in broking, MGA, or MGU operations across Personal or Commercial Lines Insurance.
Strong commercial acumen with experience in budget management and financial oversight.
In-depth knowledge of Irish insurance regulations, including engagement with the regulator.
Proven ability to develop and implement business growth strategies.
Experience with B2C insurance distribution models.
Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with international teams.
Qualifications:
CIP, ACII, or other relevant insurance qualifications.
