Job PurposeTo promote and support independent living and community integration. To facilitate in the educational, developmental, recreational and occupational programmes and activities of the service, as appropriate. Programmes will be designed to match the service user's needs and capabilities while allowing him/her to develop his/her full potential and will be implemented at an appropriate time and setting in order to give maximum support. To assist the Community Services Manager in the development, implementation and delivery of quality customer focused and cost effective community services to service users at an appropriate time and setting. To promote and support independent living and community integration personal development and work opportunities for service users.
Minimum RequirementsMinimum QQI Level 5 in Health and Social Care or equivalentA minimum of one year's experience working in the field of disability.Previous experience of working in the CommunityExperience in the provision of personal careJob Duties & ResponsibilitiesTo enshrine the concept of independent living by supporting service users to integrate into their local community and access local resources.To ensure all interaction with service users is approached with dignity, respect, equality and incorporates choice.To plan, develop, implement, monitor and review appropriate educational, recreational and occupational programs within the community.To ensure best practice in line with up-to-date research regarding Quality of Life improvements.
