Job Title: Social Care Leader
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team delivering a trauma-informed model of care for young people aged 13-17. The focus is on building positive attachments through relationships, creating a therapeutic environment and engaging with the young people.
You will work alongside a team of Social Care professionals to deliver holistic, trauma-informed care. Key responsibilities include working with Children, Administration, Health, Safety and Professional Development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Participate in Care and Placement Plans development and implementation, ensuring accurate recording.
* Promote the rights and responsibilities of each child/young person.
* Promote their physical, emotional, social and religious welfare.
* Encourage school, training centre and medical appointment attendance.
* Organise personal documents, arrangements, information and finance on behalf of the young person.
* Liaise with parents, families and other agencies on behalf of the young person.
* Attend meetings related to care and developments.
* Engage in age-appropriate activities with children/young people.
* Use physical intervention/restraint as per local policies.
* Prepare and provide well-balanced meals.
* Manage household aspects, including budget, upkeep and cleaning.
* Report to the Social Care Manager on matters affecting service delivery.
* Be accountable for spent money.
* Make written and verbal reports on young person progress.
* Undertake ongoing professional training and development.
* Make decisions when on shift, accepting responsibility for the residential centre.
Requirements:
* 3+ years' experience in Children & Families Services or similar environment.
* Registered in the Social Care Workers Register (CORU) or eligible for registration.
