RecruitNet International Ltd specialises in Healthcare recruitment for Domestic and Overseas candidates for Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Home care and Community care. We are hiring a Staff Nurse- Intensive Care Unit for our Hospital in Dublin, Ireland. Responsibilities
1. Provide expert practical care to patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) and take part in the supervision, preparation, execution, and assessment of individualized patient care, guaranteeing a patient-centered approach.
2. Recognise the complex requirements of patients in intensive care units and offer comprehensive support to both the patients and their families.
3. Ensure that records about prohibited substances are maintained in compliance with accepted legal and professional standards.
4. Make sure that all medications are administered and stored according to safe practices, prioritizing the safety of the personnel and patients by following local policy, the Department of Health's standards, and the NMBI.
5. When required, ensure that the patient's possessions are stored safely in compliance with hospital regulations.
6. Record all required medical attention provided using the Meditech Patient Information System.
7. When asked to assume control of the Ward or Unit while the CNM is away, comply.
8. If asked, be prepared to be assigned to different parts of the hospital.
9. Document and report any incidents, accidents, near misses, or complaints to the CNM as soon as possible, and assist with any follow-up investigations that the CNM requests.
10. Attend team meetings, staff meetings, and committee meetings as needed.
11. Encourage the development of a patient-centered culture that values transparency, responsiveness to both positive and constructive patient input, and upholding the patients' right to autonomy, respect, and dignity in their care.
Requirements
1. Possess a complete registration in the NMBI-maintained Register of Nurses, General Division.
2. Possess a minimum of two years of recent, pertinent post-registration nursing experience in an acute hospital setting, working either full-time or equivalent hours on a part-time basis.
3. Have at least two years of experience working in an ICU or CCU.
4. Have completed or are working towards completion of a current Basic Life Support course.
