The fundamental unit of our research is the research capabilities of our faculty in terms of themes, research funding capacity, research management capacity and supervision.
The Research and Communications Officer supports the research work of the School of Business and developing and implementing our research communications strategy to communicate our impact to society more broadly.
We are recruiting a ‘Research and Communications Officer’ to the grade of Administrative Officer 2 on a contract basis. The role holder will work in collaboration with the School of Business Director of Research and the Head of the School of Business to support the research policy formulation and implementation of the School of Business. The role holder will be responsible for the development and implementation of research reporting structures that capture the breadth and depth of our research activities, the appropriate management of our funding, and communications strategy design and implementation to build our reputation as thought leaders in research in the academic and practice communities (e.g. business organisations, wider community via media).
This new role is an excellent opportunity for the role holder to grow the research reputation of the university as a thought leader in business, providing valuable insights on the practice of business to the business community and society more generally. You should have strong digital literacy skills, a detail-oriented systems focus, a collaborative approach to work, and a focus on the design and implementation of effective research reporting and communication systems that are congruent with our accreditation strategy and raising the profile of our research contribution to society.
An ability to work with internal and external partners, and communicate the value of our research to the university, funders, the business community and potential students is centrally important to this role.
Salary: Administrative Officer II (AOII) (2024): €44,458 – €63,244 p.a. (9 points)
Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.
