Excel Recruitment are recruiting a Staff grade Occupational Therapist to join a young adult Mental Health team in Portlaoise.
We are recruiting a CORU registered Occupational Therapist with demonstrable skills, enthusiasm and compassion.
It is essential that the successful candidate has an interest to work with you people with Mental Health conditions.
Role:
Help young adults regain independence and improve their quality of life.
You will work in a supportive team Be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment with experienced mental health professionals.
You will develop your skills and gain hands on experience in evidence-based mental health interventions and occupational therapy assessments.

Primary Duties:
Conduct occupational therapy assessments to evaluate how young peoples mental health conditions impact their daily lives.
Develop and implement individualised intervention plans to support independent living, education, and social participation.
Work closely with a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and social workers.
Actively participate in care planning, goal setting, and discharge planning for service users.
Deliver one-to-one and group-based interventions focused on enhancing functional skills, coping strategies, and overall well-being.
Support service users in building confidence, managing daily activities, and reintegrating into community life.
Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with best practices and regulatory standards.
To be successful in this role, you will: BSc in Occupational Therapy or equivalent Hold full CORU registration Ability to work with individuals/groups within a supportive environment.
Passion for working with young adults in mental health settings.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team and with service users.
Ability to deliver therapeutic interventions in both individual and group settings.
Previous experience in Mental Health or Young Adult Services is desirable but not essential.
