We currently have two vacancies for Financial Accountants on a specified purpose contract for 14 months and 24 months in the Finance Division. As a Financial Accountant, you will play a pivotal leadership role in driving transformative change towards a new operating model; ensuring financial processes are aligned with the strategic objectives of the Finance Division. Acting as the central point of engagement with key stakeholders, you will foster collaboration across departments, providing expert insights to influence decision-making and achieve organisational goals. Leading a dynamic team of financial professionals, these roles emphasise continuous improvement by mentoring team members to enhance their technical skills and professional growth. Through proactive problem solving and a focus on innovation, you will champion the development of efficient, forward-thinking financial practices that support sustainable success.
Responsibilities:
* Assist with the coordination of financial close processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory and audit requirements.
* Oversee and manage the accuracy and completeness of the general ledger.
* Prepare and review accounting transactions and reconciliations to support financial reporting processes.
* Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls and procedures to safeguard financial integrity.
* Lead in the preparation of quarter and year-end reporting and support with both interim and year-end audit.
* Lead, mentor, and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
* Identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements e.g. automating routine financial tasks.
* Support the implementation or enhancement of financial systems and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
* Provide high-quality financial reports and analysis using relevant tools and software.
* Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth financial operations and compliance.
* Lead and participate in finance-related projects and initiatives as required.
Requirements:
* Professional qualification in accounting or finance.
* Membership in a recognised accounting body (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA).
* Proven experience in financial operations, accounting, or a related environment.
* Strong analytical, numerical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
* Solid understanding of financial principles, practices, and relevant regulations.
* An ability to research, absorb and interpret technical financial/accounting information.
* Proficiency in financial systems and tools, with strong IT skills.
* Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver accurate results within deadlines.
* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills with a stakeholder-focused mind-set.
* Adaptable and resilient in a dynamic work environment.
* Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
