The Role
Senior Financial Accountant
We are seeking an experienced Finance professional to join our Finance department. This role offers the opportunity to work with our teams in Ireland, UK, and Cyprus. BidX1 operates a flexible, hybrid working model, with most roles based 60% in our office in Ballsbridge and 40% remote.
Responsibilities
* Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.
* Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in budgeting and financial forecasting, monitor performance, and provide variance analysis.
* General Ledger Management: Oversee the general ledger, ensure accurate recording of transactions, and perform account reconciliations.
* Compliance and Audit: Ensure adherence to financial regulations, prepare for audits, and address audit findings.
* Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and provide actionable insights.
* VAT returns: Oversee VAT returns.
* Internal Controls and Process Improvement: Implement and monitor internal controls, and identify opportunities for process improvements.
* Team Leadership and Mentorship: Supervise other members of the team, provide guidance, and support professional development.
* Cash Flow Management: Oversee cash flow projections and ensure liquidity for the organization.
* Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the key point of contact for financial queries with internal and external stakeholders.
* Client account management: Ensure client funds are managed in accordance with the relevant industry standards.
Qualifications & Skills
* ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
* Minimum 3 years' experience in a busy accountancy role, ideally in industry but practice will be considered as well.
* Strong Microsoft Excel skills are essential.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* High attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
* Ability to adapt to changing financial regulations and business environments.
* Ability to think strategically and contribute to overall finance function.
* Self-starter requiring minimal supervision.
* Management experience would be an advantage but not essential.
* Prior experience using Accounts IQ accounting software would be an advantage but not essential.
