Job Title: Sustainable Procurement Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the Sustainable Procurement transformation project aligning with ISO 20400.
2. Liaise with the business to ensure sustainable procurement principles are understood and implemented into business strategy and individual procurement processes.
3. Work with category and sourcing managers to implement sustainable procurement into category plans and individual processes.
4. Develop an external sustainable procurement communication strategy to support our supply chain partners on ESB's Net Zero strategy.
5. Develop SMART targets and associated KPIs relating to sustainable procurement.
6. Develop and maintain reports documenting performance vs targets and communicate results to key stakeholders.
7. Participate in industry forums to increase awareness of and promote ESB's sustainability objectives.
Requirements:
1. Minimum 7 years' experience in a related field.
2. Relevant 3rd level degree or equivalent work experience.
3. In-depth knowledge of procurement procedures, EU directives and national law.
4. Excellent understanding of Sustainability issues and challenges in the utilities sector.
5. Stakeholder management, including internal and external stakeholder communications and expectations.
6. Excellent analytical, communications and interpersonal skills.
7. Good understanding of the Supply Chain within the utilities sector, including risks and opportunities.
8. Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple workstreams.
9. Knowledge of the energy/utilities sector and procurement in high-value, technically complex projects.
10. Strong commercial acumen and influencing skills.
11. Knowledge of EU policy and National guidance and legislation in Sustainability, Net Zero and Circular Economy principles.
