Job Summary
Responsible for managing Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) to ensure that materials supply equals demand and to support the optimization of overall material costs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Develop a unique supply base and supply chain strategies tailored to customer or business unit strategic materials needs.
2. Support customers' business requirements using standard processes where possible and customized solutions when necessary. Collaborate with purchasing managers and Supply Chain Management to determine the best approach to meet customer needs, influencing customer supply chain strategies to leverage those of Jabil.
3. Determine the mode of transport (road, ocean, air) based on demand requirements and part criteria.
4. Communicate Jabil's expectations to suppliers, conducting supplier audits/visits, certifications, and performance reviews to develop and continuously improve the supply base. Obtain feedback from Materials Planners on suppliers' delivery, quality, and service performance.
5. Support, execute, and provide inputs to improve Jabil SCM initiatives and strategies.
6. Quote new and existing materials, working with Materials Quotation Analyst if applicable. Regularly re-quote and negotiate to capitalize on cost reduction opportunities.
7. Making sourcing decisions based on overall cost and benefit, including price, duty, freight, flexibility, service, performance, quality, and terms & conditions.
8. Negotiate terms and conditions that protect Jabil's and its customers' best interests, negotiating liability terms, special stocking arrangements, and other agreements outside of standard Jabil terms and conditions.
9. Ensure execution of Jabil pricing and terms & conditions agreements, such as Worldwide Purchasing Agreements negotiated and agreed upon by Jabil.
10. Improve sourcing options by working with Jabil's internal resources and customers to add Jabil preferred and/or strategic suppliers to customers' Approved Manufacturers List (AML).
11. Analyze and project component purchase prices accurately reflecting inventory value for a financial period in Standard Costing process.
12. Provide input to determine Quoted Cost to the Customer, competitive yet maximizing Materials Price Variance (MPV).
13. Continuously optimize MPV by reducing material costs and limiting unfavorable PPV/MPV. Work with Business Unit Manager to obtain customers' authorization for additional expenses like premiums on materials or freight and tooling charges incurred on customers' behalf.
14. Collaborate with Materials Planners and monitor, track, and provide feedback on suppliers' performance for continuous improvement.
15. Work with Materials Planners to ensure suppliers support overall business needs of Jabil.
16. Acknowledge and adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
17. Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
Person Specification:
* Computer literate with intermediate/advanced MS Office skills.
* Highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to work with cross-functional teams.
* Strong planning and organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Proficiency in the English language is required, alongside eligibility to work in Ireland.
* Proven ability to meet deadlines.
* 'Can-do' work ethic with excellent problem-solving skills.

Essential Criteria:
* Third-level qualification in Supply Chain or related discipline.
* Minimum 2 years of experience working as a Buyer or similar role required. May substitute experience for educational requirements.
* 12+ months of Jabil Materials experience required for internal applicants.
Desired Criteria:
* Experience in electronic manufacturing environment highly desirable.
* Experience in leading process improvements/lean manufacturing activities in a manufacturing environment advantageous.
