Building a sustainable tomorrow
BAM Facilities Management currently operates a portfolio of long-term, 25-year PPP Contracts, combined with a variety of other projects in the education, commercial and retail sectors. This is an opportunity to develop a long-term career in Facilities Management, with the potential for future growth within the Commercial Team.
The Quantity Surveyor (QS) will be responsible for preparing monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs), managing tender packages, overseeing small works, and handling procurement tasks. The role requires attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
BAM have a flexible working policy. The role will be a combination of remote working with attendance at BAM Offices, with the occasional requirement to travel to site.
Your mission
Preparation of Monthly Commercial Reports:
1. Compile relevant monthly cost and revenue data for input to Monthly Reports
2. Prepare monthly project reports and summary reports
3. Review completed works with revenue and reconcile in reports
4. Finalise with Commercial Director
Tendering:
1. Compile information and distribute tender packages to subcontractors.
2. Review and compare returned tenders.
3. Prepare orders and manage contract renewal dates.
4. Regularly review and update subcontractor packages and rates.
5. Conduct cost analysis on current and future packages.
6. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement efficiencies.
Variations / Additional Works Quotations:
1. Liaise with Operations Team and Client PPP Co in relation to Client changes.
2. Prepare quotations, including Capex, Operational & Lifecycle costs, track progress, and update the Operations Team and Client regularly.
3. Maintain and update records for works completion, sign off and invoicing.
4. Information management and invoicing.
Support for Operations Team:
1. Provide information on subcontracts/subcontractors.
2. Address invoicing and subcontract queries.
3. Assist in procuring products or subcontractors.
4. Develop Reactive Payment Applications for review by Operations Team.
Who are we looking for?
1. Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying / Engineering / Project Management or related field.
2. Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of COINS software beneficial.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work to the BAM values of Sustainable, Inclusive, Reliable, Ownership and Collaborative.
