IT Support Technician
Leading logistics organisation is seeking a skilled Logistics IT Support Technician to provide comprehensive technical support across a range of devices and systems. This role is crucial in ensuring smooth operations within a fast-paced logistics environment, supporting end-users with their IT needs and maintaining essential technology infrastructure.
The position requires expertise in laptops, mobile phones, handheld devices, printers, Azure, warehouse management systems (WMS), and video conferencing solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams, resolving IT issues efficiently to minimise downtime and enhance productivity. This is a Monday-to-Friday role with opportunities for project work and overtime
Responsibilities:
* Provide first and second-line support for laptops, mobile phones, handheld scanners, and printers in a logistics setting.
* Troubleshoot Azure-based infrastructure issues and support WMS applications.
* Maintain and configure video conferencing systems, ensuring smooth communication between teams.
* Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, escalating complex problems when required.
* Manage user accounts, permissions, and security settings in line with company policies.
* Implement and maintain IT security best practices to protect data and systems.
* Assist in IT asset management, ensuring accurate tracking and deployment of devices.
* Provide training and support to end-users on IT systems and applications.
* Work collaboratively with IT and logistics teams to improve system efficiency.
* Support IT projects, including software updates, migrations, and infrastructure improvements.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in an IT support role within a logistics, warehousing, or supply chain environment.
* Strong technical knowledge of Windows operating systems, Azure, and WMS software.
* Experience troubleshooting laptops, mobile phones, handheld devices, and printers.
* Familiarity with video conferencing systems such as Microsoft Teams or Zoom.
* Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
* Experience managing user accounts and IT security protocols.
* A proactive approach to IT support, with a focus on minimising downtime.
* Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals) are advantageous.
