We are looking for a Mechanical Plant Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative OTS team, working on a client site. The Mechanical Plant Engineer will lead the support of all technical services for the client, including clean and black utilities upgrades and remediation projects. The role is responsible for problem solving and support of the control centre for a busy pharmaceutical manufacturing plant. This role will require communication at senior leadership level.
Responsibilities
1. Ensure all maintenance, preventive and unplanned of assigned equipment/systems is completed on schedule, within budget, in safe and satisfactory manner and all documentation completed.
2. Assist in reviewing level of spare parts with respect to requirement/frequency of change outs.
3. Task management of schedules and resources assigned, monitor progress and quality of assigned tasks.
4. Maintain awareness of and compliance with cGMP.
5. Equipment owner, ensuring spare parts are available and assigned to the correct equipment on SAP.
6. Manage budget and procurement of day-to-day mechanical and equipment purchases.
7. Plan improvement and upgrade projects to improve overall reliability and safety.
8. Liaise with Planner and prioritise work flow.
9. Organising plant engineering support for CIP meeting outcomes.
10. Managing maintenance contractors, technically support them in their work and coordinate work tasks/permits to the correct area owners.
11. Participate in root cause analysis, deviations and resolution teams.
12. Carry out Risk Assessments, BBS and BBQ’s documenting any potential hazards within the plant and reporting non-conformances and deviations promptly to stakeholders.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within a production or manufacturing environment, preferably in the pharmaceutical or chemical industry, ideally with API experience.
3. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including pumps, compressors, valves, and conveyors.
4. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
5. Familiarity with maintenance management software and tools.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
7. Knowledge of safety regulations and standards relevant to the industry.
