Job Title: Switchgear Design & Estimation Engineer
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Work closely with electrical engineers and manufacturing engineers to comprehend design requirements and constraints.
2. Design and develop mechanical components and systems for switchgear products, such as circuit breakers, disconnect switches, busbars, and enclosures.
3. Create engineering documentation, such as bills of materials, design specifications, technical submittals, and reports.
4. Drafting of quotations and tender submittals.
5. Utilize EPLAN and suppliers software to create schematic drawings and detailed drawings of mechanical components and assemblies.
6. Coordinate with suppliers to procure components and ensure that designs meet regulatory standards and customer requirements.
Desired Criteria
1. Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
2. Proven experience in mechanical design, preferably in the field of switchgear or electrical equipment.
3. Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
4. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials selection, and design for manufacturability principles.
5. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations applicable to switchgear design.
6. Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to producing high-quality designs and documentation.
7. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
