Elusav Recruitment have a great opportunity for a Projects & Engineering Manager with an industry leading process systems engineering company in the Pharma/Biopharma sector, based in North Cork/Limerick.
As theProjects & Engineering Manager you will bean active member of the Site SMT (Senior Management Team) contribute to strategic planning and decision-making processes of the business.
Responsibilities: Lead, mentor & inspire a team of Project Managers & Engineers to deliver Projects to the quality required, specific delivery dates and margin targets.
Ensure the Projects team coordinates with all relevant internal departments to meet delivery and margin targets.
Ensure design, procurement, production, quality and testing activities during the project happen according to the project schedule.
Coordinate the Engineering activities of the Engineering department to meet the needs of the business,working on a daily basis with the Skid Design Manager, Vessel Design Manager, Electrical Engineering Manager& the Project Engineers Manager.
Manage the Engineering & Project Management workload for the department using forecast planners for current projects & potential sales.
Ensure any potential issues that might arise as regards to technical compliance, delivery and cost schedules are identified up front and proactively provide realistic and commercial solutions.
Work closely with suppliers and subcontractors in satisfying our customers expectations.
Ensure that all project commercials are up to date i.e., variations to be tracked and claimed, any cost variances are escalated on a weekly basis to the LOB Manager and all invoicing is up to date.
Monitor and report on project progress, identify and manage risks to the projects schedule or commercial targets.
Ensure all project managers & engineers take a hands-on approach to their projects and drive each other to deliver customer projects.
Propose and justify any improvements that can be made to improve our competitiveness and project delivery.
Proactively manage projects through the project lifecycle at all times looking to solve problems and challenges that arise whilst maintaining maximum customer satisfaction.
Work with the Sales & Estimation teams to deliver project executions plans, costings and schedules for submission to clients.
Liaise with customers on an ongoing basis in relation to Project progress, times lines, cost changes and variations requested.
Communicate across all departments to foster strong partnership and drive successful outcomes for the company and its customers.
Ensure project schedules, variation logs, project control logs are up to date, accurate and submitted to customers weekly (schedule bi-weekly).
Monitor staff loading and use external capacity if required.
Four ups submitted per job to customer every Friday giving an update on the project identifying any risks, costs, blocking points along with progress in the week.
Ensure all project activities are completed per the project specific quality plan.
Maintain & update the Quality Management System for department operating procedures.
Develop and approve new operating procedures, work instructions & forms when the need arises.
Maintain a training matrix to ensure all staff are being trained.
All PM have MS project and PMP training completed.
Identify specific training needs for each department and present to LOB manager for approval.
Contribute to any relevant projects / requests that contribute to the overall development of the Masco Group.
Requirements: Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Production, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience (7+ years total, 3+ years in management position) in Projects & Engineering leadership roles within the engineering or related industry.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Proficiency in project management and process optimization, with a strong focus on meeting deadlines.
Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance requirements in the Engineering sector.
Ability to manage budgets effectively and ensure resource allocation aligns with organizational goals.
Proven ability to lead and inspire teams to achieve common objectives in a dynamic business environment.
Experience with continuous improvement methodologies including Lean Six Sigma and a track record of implementing successful initiatives.
Strong background in developing and managing project & engineering schedules to ensure timely delivery while optimizing resource utilization.
Experience with Pharmaceutical, Food & Beverage plants.
Strong Technical and Mechanical background in the Pharmaceutical, Food & Beverage sectors.
Sound business acumen, and the capability to control costs and increase profits.
Ability to take responsibility and make decisions.
i.e., talk with clients to resolve day to day issues if PM assigned is not finding a resolution.
Understanding and awareness of legal aspects of contracts entered into with customers.
