We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join our team, reporting to our Network Solutions Engineering Lead.
This role will involve meeting client requirements in regards to installations and upgrades of network equipment both remotely and in person at client sites throughout Ireland.
Due to client requirements, this role will require flexibility in regards to hours of work, location and will require on-call rota availability. What you'll be doing as our Network Engineer: Installation and configuration of network equipmentMaintenance of computer networks such as routers, switches, Wi-Fi controllers and other physical hardwareConfiguring firewalls and updating security systems to protect communications and dataTroubleshooting, resolving and communicating networking problems to management and other employeesImplementing a disaster recovery processMaintaining present information and understanding networking and security best practices to provide the best protection and solutions for our client's systemsCreating and maintaining network documentationSupporting the managed services teams in troubleshooting incidents within customer environments, including site visitsWorking with the team to ensure all environments adhere to secure standards and frameworksContribute to delivering technical excellence with the IT teamWhat we're looking for in our Network Engineer: Good knowledge of networking and related protocols is an essential requirementExperience working with our core networking technologiesIn-depth understanding and knowledge in each of the following: MAC, IP, TCP, UDP, SSL VPN, IPSEC VPN, SNMP, SYSLOG, SSH, Telnet, WiresharkA good understanding of Voice over IP, Wi-Fi networks and standardsCandidate must have a good understanding of routing protocols with emphasis on (Static routes, OSPF and BGP)A basic knowledge of networking stack on various operating systems (Windows, Linux, VMware, Hyper-V, Chrome OS, Apple OS)Experience working with firewalls and understanding advanced threat protection and how to implement it is essential for this roleA good knowledge of HPE Aruba, Fortinet and Cisco product rangesAnalytical thinking skillsThis role requires collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders, with communication remotely and in personAbility to work both on own initiative and as part of a team is crucialDriving Licence required to visit client premisesIf you feel you have the required skills and experience, click apply now to be considered as our Network Engineer – we'd love to hear from you!
