About the Role
The Production Manager is a key position within Cpac Modular Limited.
This successful candidate will play a pivotal role in Cpac Modular and have overall responsibility in managing the production facility.
The Production Manager will collaborate with multiple departments, working closely with our Commercial, Quality, Design and Health and Safety departments to deliver a systematic high performance production facility.
The production manager will ensure compliance with all necessary regulations, and drive our LEAN building methodologies.
This role reports to the Construction Director.
The Production Manager will oversee a department of circa 50 employees:
Key Responsibilities
* Production Operations Management: Oversee the daily operations of the modular construction production facility.
* Develop and implement production schedules to meet project deadlines.
* Monitor workflows, processes, and resource allocation to ensure optimal efficiency.
* Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve productivity and output.
Lean Building Practices
* Champion lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance overall productivity.
* Analyse current processes and identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings.
* Train and mentor employees on lean building methods and best practices.
Team Leadership and Management
* Provide leadership and direction to a team of over 50 employees, including supervisors, production staff, and support teams.
* Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, ensuring clear communication across all levels.
* Recruit, train, and develop employees to build a high-performing team.
* Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
Quality Control and Safety
* Working closely with the quality department to ensure that all production meets company quality standards and complies with relevant building codes and regulations.
* In collaboration with the Health and Safety Team to ensure safety protocols and developed and followed to maintain a safe working environment.
* Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential risks or hazards.
Operational Efficiency and Reporting
* Monitor production costs and develop strategies to stay within budget.
* Track key performance indicators (KPIs) both in personal and mechanical resources and provide regular reports to senior management.
* Collaborate with other departments, including design, procurement, finance and logistics, to align production with overall company goals.
Experience
* Proven experience in production management, preferably within modular construction or a related field.
* Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and techniques.
* Excellent leadership and team management skills with experience of managing large teams.
* Knowledge of construction processes, materials, and building practices.
* Excellent project management and organizational skills.
* Ability to analyse performance data and present actionable insights.
Education
* Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, business administration, or a related field.
* Equivalent experience may be considered.
* Qualification in project management or manufacturing practices or methodologies are also highly desirable.
