Health & Safety and Facilities Manager
Our Clients are about to move to a new office in the Dublin 22 area. They are looking for a full time Health & Safety Officer, who will also manage Facilities in the new office.
The H&S and Facilities Manager will play a key role in promoting and maintaining a health & safety culture within the company. As Facilities Management Officer, you will oversee the maintenance, repair, and operational efficiency of our office.
The Role:
* The H&S Officer will play a key role in promoting and maintaining a strong health and safety culture within the company to include Health & Safety Staff training.
* Maintain, improve & implement health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with current and future relevant legislation and industry best practice.
* Review Health & Safety Statement annually and amend as appropriate.
* Ensure effective risk assessment and risk reduction programmes are in place.
* Conduct regular internal H&S inspections and audits to monitor effectiveness of controls and highlight any areas for improvement/action. Facilitate external audits & inspections where required.
* Manage the action tracking process through liaising with all stakeholders to ensure agreed actions are closed in a timely manner and escalated where necessary.
* Maintain all health and safety records.
* Identify, organise, and deliver training to management and personnel when required.
* Ensure a robust H&S incident investigation process is in place. Lead investigations where necessary.
* Maintain the office interior.
* Manage all plumbing, electrical and building faults, including supervision of contractors as required and approved.
* Manage and maintain on-site and off-site archive facilities as per company policy.
* Move items of stock from one place to another, as necessary to meet operational requirements.
* Secure washing of all windows of all offices, meeting rooms, kitchen and toilets at least every three months or more frequently as required.
* Assist in maintaining all kitchens/canteen on a daily basis, including filling and emptying of dishwashers, bins etc in conjunction with the cleaners.
* Maintain all toilets in spotless condition in conjunction with the cleaners.
* Check housekeeping supplies on a weekly basis and reorder as necessary.
* Supervise cleaning service staff and ensure bins are put out for collection as necessary.
* Assist Receptionist with the preparation of Boardrooms for meetings and tidying/cleaning afterwards.
* Assist the team with any seminars or conferences, including the movement of marketing materials to external venues.
* Ensure premises are locked up securely and be first point of contact if alarm is activated and security firm needs assistance.
* Cover receptionist duties regarding admitting personnel and visitors.
* Undertake any other reasonable duties as may be requested.
The Person:
* Graduate Diploma (Level 8) in Occupational Safety, Health, and Welfare.
* 3+ years’ experience in a Health and Safety focused environment.
* Knowledge of ISO standards.
* Training, Delivery & Evaluation (QQI 6) or Instructor training advantageous.
* Computer literate with excellent knowledge of the full range of MS Office packages.
* Attention to detail, problem solving, communication and presentation skills essential.
* Must be able to work on own initiative in a very busy environment.
* Will be able to demonstrate an ability to create concise reports, procedures, and policies.
* Full clean driving licence with own car.
* Flexibility with shift rotation and travel required.
