While positioned as a 5-day-a-week role, this could be reduced depending on the candidate's experience.The role may also appeal to a (Senior) Audit / Assurance Manager Level candidate within a Top 10 firm who is looking for a hands-on role outside of practice.Operating in a friendly and welcoming environment, this organisation supports members in an interesting field of work, and it is a happy place to work.Our client, based in Dublin city centre, has a hybrid working policy.Main Purpose of the RoleTo manage all aspects of the organisation's financial health and to actively contribute towards the financial planning, and strategic growth and development of the Institute as a key member of the senior management team.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic ManagementContribute to the management of the organisation by developing and maintaining strategies that support the Finance Department.Participate within the management team in the delivery of the organisation's strategy across all areas of the business, providing financial analysis and guidance on activities, plans, targets and business drivers.Effective management and control of all capital and revenue budgets, to ensure effective management and control of all resources and expenditure at the organisation.Lead and manage on the financial aspects of all projects within the organisation.Have an overview of the activities and budgets for each Division to ensure organisation objectives are achieved.Monitor and control the quality and cost-effectiveness of services provided by the Finance Department to ensure high standards and value for money.Maintain up-to-date records of divisional financial information.DeliveryDeliver an excellent service to all stakeholders through solid financial management of the organisation.Ensure accurate and timely preparation of management accounts, the effective operation and development of management systems for all accounting functions, particularly those relating to purchase ledger, sales ledger, payroll, cash, banking and nominal ledger.Be responsible for the preparation of relevant reports, analysing and reporting financial performance for the organisation and to present at Finance Committee, Board Meetings, as and when required.Establish guidelines for budget and forecast preparation and prepare the annual budget in consultation with the CEO.Be fully conversant with new initiatives, new legislation and current thinking in all matters relating to the financial management of the organisation and advise the management team and Board accordingly.Identify where possible opportunities to grow and develop appropriate income streams in line with organisation policies and strategies.Oversee the management of all leases, contracts and other financial commitments.Evaluate the need for new technology to meet the organisation's financial data processing, control and reporting requirements.Plan, implement and develop Finance Department operating procedures.Liaise with auditors, tax and other business advisers.Manage organisation investments to their best advantage.Staff ManagementLead and develop Finance team members by establishing excellent ongoing working relationships with the team via training and communication.Additional ResponsibilitiesProvide organisation Risk Committee with relevant reports and represent organisation at Risk Committee meetings.Prepare and maintain a Risk register for the organisation in conjunction with the CEO and other senior management.Promote and adhere to the organisation culture and values.Be aware of and adhere to legislative requirements consistent with overall duties of the post.Undergo relevant training and development.Carry out other tasks that will from time to time be allocated by the CEO on an ad hoc or continuing basis, commensurate with the general level of responsibility of the post.Person SpecificationQualified member of an accountancy body (ACA / ACCA) preferably with significant experience at financial controller/senior finance manager level.Ability to operate at both strategic and operational level.Energetic, highly motivated, self-starter.Excellent communication; both oral and written and strong interpersonal skills.Proven experience of budget preparation, setting and monitoring and financial forecasting.Proven experience of preparing and presenting financial and management accounts, reports and data.Excellent working knowledge of current accounting software systems.Proven report writing skills.Personal integrity and confidentiality.Ability to build good rapport with all staff, committees, boards etc.Shane Power FCA Managing Director EMPOWERMENT Financial Recruitment is the point of contact for this role.
