The Role
Audit Services are offering an exceptional opportunity for you to showcase and expand your audit and control knowledge in identifying and mitigating risk.
The Associate Director role is a key senior position within the global Audit Services organization, responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight of the Asset Servicing audit team, whose primary focus is to identify and evaluate the risks and assess the controls supporting the Asset Servicing line of business at Northern Trust.
Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, implementing the target operating model in line with the Audit Service Group objectives and methodologies, fostering an environment where growth and opportunity for career advancement are present, and ensuring Audit Services operations are effective and well controlled, team members complete their responsibilities, and deliverables are complete, accurate, and timely.
The role is expected to include responsibility for managing a number of Direct Reports.
In addition, the Associate Director is responsible for work paper quality, thoroughness, accuracy, and timeliness.
The Partner may also execute a broader role across the team in terms of recommending or developing operational efficiencies and/or producing and delivering presentations which assist with understanding root causes of control gaps, industry trends, peer practices, etc.
Skills / Experience
Proven assurance experience gained within internal audit, external audit, monitoring or testing functions in a financial institution, regulator, or consulting environment.
Experience in the collation and use of data analytics is advantageous.
An ability to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a global audit team across multiple time zones and jurisdictions.
Proven communication skills, both written and oral.
Experience with audit workpaper applications is advantageous.
Ability to adapt and react positively in a changing and dynamic work environment while delivering to tight deadlines.
Ability to develop relationships with diverse groups and various levels of personnel.
Ability to work autonomously and make sound business judgments in resolving routine and more complex issues.
Flexibility, multi-tasking, creative thinking, good business judgment skills are required to meet strict deadlines and manage multiple projects.
Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CIA, CISA, ACAMS) preferable but not mandatory.
