Publishing Ireland is seeking a new President for the term 2024–2026, a voluntary position based in Dublin, to lead its board and oversee the organisation’s strategic direction.
Established in 1970, Publishing Ireland is an all-Ireland body representing Irish book publishers, advocating for the interests of its 50 member publishers and promoting Irish literature domestically and internationally.
The President will chair board and annual general meetings, ensuring effective decision-making and governance. The role involves leading a 10-member board, fostering constructive board-executive communication, upholding integrity, and promoting corporate governance standards. Candidates should demonstrate commercial acumen, strategic planning experience, leadership qualities, and an understanding of Ireland’s cultural or literary environment.
Board meetings are held bi-monthly, with additional commitments for subcommittee involvement and events. Interested individuals should submit an application letter, CV, and two references to Ivan O’Brien at president@publishingireland.com by 16th February 2024.
