PURPOSE
As a IT Undergraduate Placement on the Open Source Governance (OSG) Program you will be part of a diverse and dynamic team from the very beginning and you will work with experienced IT professionals in an agile and innovative environment.
Reporting to the Delivery Lead you will be working with teams responsible for delivering across a range of different products for our customers. The OSG examines the use of Open Source Software (OSS) across SITA. Its purpose is to identify OSS in use, provide license validation and identify remedial action required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Utilise scanning tools which aid the identification and management of OSS usage throughout SITA and analyze OSS scanning reports.
* Develop automated scripts to aid the scanning process and integration with the automation processes.
* Upgrade and maintain application servers.
* Provide technical reports on OSS scanning results, assess products used, identify origin and license implications.
* Identify requirements for new OSS use, as a result of scanning or from the developer community.
* Liaise with the Open Source Working Party and Project teams on requests for new OSS use.
* Aid in gathering of OSS scanning statistics.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
* Completed 2 years of a University degree or equivalent in Computer Science or similar your Degree course allows you to take up one year undergraduate placement.
* Experienced in Software development principles, programming languages, troubleshooting and analysis, version control and security.
