Job Overview:
Central Engineering is seeking a highly skilled QA Manager to lead the quality assurance efforts on a large-scale project within the data center and high-voltage sector.
This fixed-term contract position will require you to ensure the highest quality standards are met throughout the entire project lifecycle, adhering to strict industry regulations, including ISO 9001 and EN 1090 compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance Leadership:
* Develop, implement, and manage the Quality Assurance (QA) program for the project, ensuring alignment with ISO 9001 and EN 1090 standards.
* Act as the primary point of contact for all QA-related matters on the project, both internally and externally.
* Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and customers to ensure that QA objectives are met throughout the project lifecycle.
Audit Management:
* Conduct internal audits and support external audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.
* Prepare for and participate in third-party audits, ensuring documentation, processes, and project execution meet all regulatory requirements.
* Monitor compliance to quality policies and procedures across all project phases, from procurement through to installation and commissioning.
Documentation & Reporting:
* Oversee the preparation, review, and management of quality documentation, including inspection test plans (ITPs), non-conformance reports (NCRs), and other compliance documentation.
* Ensure all project documentation is correctly managed, stored, and communicated to all stakeholders using systems such as Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
* Provide accurate and timely quality reports to internal management and external clients, outlining project quality performance and any corrective actions.
Customer Liaison:
* Work closely with customers to meet their quality expectations and provide detailed documentation on quality procedures and outcomes.
* Participate in project meetings and quality reviews with customers to ensure their standards are met and any concerns are addressed proactively.
Risk Management & Issue Resolution:
* Proactively identify and mitigate quality risks associated with the project to avoid rework, delays, or quality failures.
* Lead problem-solving activities using root cause analysis (RCA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and 8 D methodology to address non-conformance issues swiftly and effectively.
Continuous Improvement:
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance quality, reduce waste, and optimize processes.
* Promote and integrate Lean principles within the project environment to improve efficiency and quality outcomes.
Team Leadership & Training:
* Provide leadership to the QA team on-site, mentoring staff and fostering a culture of quality and accountability.
* Conduct training sessions for staff and subcontractors to ensure a thorough understanding of quality procedures, standards, and expectations.
Key Requirements:
Education & Certifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
* ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification is essential.
* EN 1090 certification or extensive experience managing EN 1090 compliance within the construction, data center, or high-voltage sectors.
* Six Sigma, Lean, or similar continuous improvement certification is an advantage.
Experience:
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance management, ideally within the data center, high-voltage, or construction industries.
* Proven track record of leading QA activities on large-scale, complex projects.
* Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and Auto CAD, ensuring alignment with construction industry standards and customer expectations.
* Experience in managing ISO 9001 and EN 1090 certifications and maintaining compliance throughout project execution.
* Strong experience working directly with customers and external stakeholders to deliver quality-focused results on large-scale projects.
