Sites will be in the west, midlands and north west regions (depending on current projects). Oversee all onsite activities ensuring all tasks are completed in the safest way possible within specification, on time and on budget to the highest quality standards and in line with the VMR (Veolia Minimum Requirement). Additionally the site manager may be required to fulfil the following roles as part of their duties on smaller sites.First AiderTemporary works supervisor/coordinatorDay to Day of the Role: Plan and manage and monitor the construction work while promoting and maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and environmental managementFamiliarisation with the design documentation, project programme and construction methodologies for the assigned projectSet persons to work manage and coordinate activities inline with the Veolia Minimum Requirements toolkit standardEnsure all plant equipment are fit for purpose and inspected as requiredReview of all third party RAMS / SSOW and production of methodology sequencing to ensure alignment with the VMR tool kitDemonstrate, promote and acknowledge positive behaviours to develop a proactive safety culture on siteIdentify and prevent unsafe behaviours, defects Investigate events inline with Veolia and clients policies in the event of an incident on siteCoordinate all activities on site to ensure smooth interactions and avoid conflicts Communicate daily briefing with all supervisors, employees and contractorsReport on programme progress identifying risks and opportunities to project completion. Provide a 3 week look ahead to the client and their representatives on a weekly basisDevelop and maintain a quality log for each subcontractor and ensure all defects are resolved in a timely and effective mannerCarry out site H&S inspections/audits as required by VMR Ensure everyone working on site has received a site specific induction and that all competencies are checked and recorded in the site training matrix.Ensure all PSCS duties are being fulfilled on siteManaging Subcontractor performance on site and escalating issues to the project managerOptimise workflows where possible to reduce project programmeDemonstrate commercial awareness and play a role in resolving disputes & claimsEnsure ongoing compliance with the following during construction phaseEnvironmental Plan / Waste Management Plan / Construction H&S Plan / Emergency Plan / Project ScheduleRequired skills for this role:3rd level qualification in Construction Management or equivalent level of experience3 years’ + experience working in multi-discipline site based project3 years+ construction experience preferably in trades/supervision roleExperience in the water/wastewater industry desirableExperience of projects with substantial pipework and structural/access metalworkKnowledge of the water industry and related construction methodology, equipment and processes (Desirable)Manage a multi disciplinary site team consisting of various trades and subcontractorsLead by example on H&S and empower all on site to ensure that all work is carried out safely Proactive and professional communication styleStrong relationship building management skillsStrong organisational and planning skillsExcellent interpersonal and written communication skillsThe ability to lead, manage and proactively participate in project teamsStrong problem-solving skillsThe ability to gather information and consult with the correct team members to resolve problems as they arisePlease note:If you are an EU/EEA national, you will be asked to show proof of right to work in Ireland.If you are a non-EU/EEA national, you will require current and valid permission to work and reside in the Republic of Ireland.Information on legislation and guides to the procedures in relation to obtaining greencard permits ,work permits, spousal/dependant permits is available on the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation website.
