Residential Care Worker
We are seeking a passionate and caring individual to join our team at Ashdale Care in Ireland. Our goal is to transform the lives of young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs.

About The Role
1. Cultivate genuine connections with young people, interacting with them and their families with dignity and respect.
2. Contribute to creating a welcoming, safe, caring, stable, and therapeutic environment.
3. Advocate for young people's rights and responsibilities while promoting physical, emotional, social, cultural, ethnic, and spiritual wellbeing.
4. E nsure young people are not subjected to abuse and report concerns according to policy and procedures.
5. Supervise outings and undertake daily household activities as positive modelling.
6. Actively participate in the Model of Therapeutic Care.
7. Be physically able to support challenging behaviours when needed.
8. Provide emotional support during difficult times and encourage young people's participation in care planning.
9. Integrate understanding of youth trauma into practice through specialised training.
10. Collaborate with support networks, including social workers and educators.
11. Collaborate effectively within a team, engaging in regular communication and giving/receiving feedback.
12. Maintain consistency in childcare plans.
13. Complete accurate records and reports for each young person.
14. Take on key worker duties, handling daily petty cash and serving as a primary point of contact.
15. Contribute to community engagement and partnerships to enrich residents' experiences.
16. This role involves sleepover shifts.

Support Shifts
8-10 hour shifts (e.g., 10am-8pm or 12pm-10am)
18-Hour Sleep-In Shift
Start at 10am, sleep in from 12am-7am, finish at 11am (paid separately)
Skills Needed
Ashdale Care seeks candidates with a Level 8 qualification (Honours degree) or above in Psychology.

Desired Criteria
* Level 8 qualification (Honours degree) or above in Psychology
Required Criteria
* Ability to work in regulated activity, care for, and supervise young persons
* Full clean driving license
* Flexible – willing and able to adapt to changing circumstances, shift patterns, and expectations
* Level 7 qualification (degree) or above in specified fields
