Job Description:
An experienced Electrical Design Engineer is required for a leading manufacturer in the pharma industry based in Cork. The ideal candidate will have expertise in industrial control systems, process control loops, motor controls, and instrument connections.
The successful candidate will design electrical wiring layouts and panels for process instrumentation and control devices using documents such as P&ID, Instrument Schedule, and customer specifications.
* Design PLC control Loops, Motor controls, and variable frequency drive circuits
* Design pneumatic circuits for process control and instrumentation
* Create and design required design documents, including Electrical Schematics, Electrical drawings, and Instrument Schedule (IS)
The Electrical Design Engineer will support existing equipment with after-sales support, manage specifications, design, purchasing of equipment, and oversee project builds within budget and time constraints.
Key responsibilities include:
* Interfacing with Engineers and other design disciplines to provide an integrated system design
* Collaborating with the sales team to deliver competitive solutions to the industry
* Maintaining a safe, healthy, ethically responsible workplace and business
* Managing Automation Variation Change Requests (VCR) with clients
* Conducting electrical design review meetings with the larger engineering team
The ideal candidate will possess:
* 2-3 years of previous Electrical Design Engineering experience in industrial control systems, process control loops, motor controls, and instrument connections
* Strong project management skills and problem-solving abilities
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
* Experience working with multiple projects simultaneously
* Knowledge of Good Documentation Practices (GDP) in the Life Sciences industry
Requirements include:
* Degree or equivalent certification in Electrical Engineering
* Experience in AutoCAD and See Electrical CAD systems
* PLC/DCS hardware experience, preferably Weidmuller, Siemens, and Allan Bradley
* Knowledge of regional regulatory standards, such as CE and NRTL Panels standards, and ATEX (EU) and HazLoc (US) certification
