Welcome to AtkinsRéalis, Project & Programme Services. We are looking for an Estimator who will join our team based out of our Dublin office.
What you will bring?
1. Recognised expertise in estimating services across infrastructure.
2. Experience within either rail, highways, utilities, energy or aviation is desirable.
3. Ability to inspire and motivate teams and unlock future talent for the business.
4. An excellent understanding of industry benchmarks / best practices and methods of measurements (e.g., RMM, MMHW etc).
5. Strong network within the infrastructure sector.
6. Proven track record of service innovation, technical excellence, and exceptional service delivery.
7. Technical ability to challenge engineering teams and identify/cost-efficient design solutions.
8. Comprehensive understanding of the assignments facing the transport sector and the opportunities available.
9. Major project/programmes of work experience.
Your purpose:
1. Further enhance our Estimating capability including leading on the development and use of Cost X, Cost OS and other established estimating software.
2. Lead our community of practice and drive technical excellence, service innovation and support with the development of our benchmarking capabilities.
3. Unlock talent and develop the next generation of leaders.
4. Deliver excellent client service on our commissions through quality assurance and regular client care.
5. Develop, mentor and support your teams on project/technical delivery.
Strategic:
1. Deliver the strategy for the Estimating Service including identifying continuous development.
2. Deliver an exceptional estimating service for multiple stakeholders.
3. Identify opportunities for strategic recruitment and associated investments by the business, linked to the company's business strategy.
4. Ensure appropriate engagement with the wider AtkinsRéalis business, as influenced by the strategy.
5. Develop a positive team ethos and continue to create opportunities for the team’s development.
6. Continually monitor progress against targets, identify risks and provide solutions to achieve successful business outcomes.
Business Development:
1. Support with the estimating business development activity.
2. Support with the review of our Key Account Management Plans for all key clients.
3. Monitor and manage estimating activity and associated expenditure within your remit.
4. Generate high quality thought leadership material for use on the website & in the market.
5. Secure year-on-year margin improvement on project delivery.
6. Further develop our infrastructure business across Ireland.
7. Monitor and control compliance with all key metrics, including (but not limited to):
* Project Health Checks
* Risk register review and updates
* Utilisation
* PSR Completion
* Timesheets
* Account management.

3. Increase our share of the clients’ spend.
4. Exploit opportunities for cross-selling our full spectrum of services & locations.
5. Leading interfaces with design and engineering elements of our business.

Project leadership:
Having leadership skills necessary to direct and manage the project team having responsibility, under minimum supervision, delivering portfolios and projects relating to rail, highways, utilities, energy, aviation and other infrastructure sectors.

Providing guidance and technical advice to different stakeholders, including effectively chairing meetings.
Clear understanding of and competence in project commercial accountability.
Technical leadership:
1. Actively broaden your experience and expertise in line with the core competencies.
2. Have an up-to-date and developing knowledge of legal and technical matters relevant to the work you do, and the law of the region or country in which you practice.
3. Participating in relevant internal/external training initiatives.

Attributes:
1. Proven track record to inspire projects for or on behalf of local or national infrastructure clients.
2. Proven track record of working in a consultancy environment, delivering exceptional projects, and managing teams.
Requirements:
1. Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, ACostE, ICES or similar relevant professional association and NVQ Level 3 in Project Controls is desirable.
2. Degree or equivalent in quantity surveying/estimating is essential.
3. Quantity surveying skills and comprehensive understanding of the construction industry.
4. Familiarity with government initiatives and policies.
