Role Description:
Managing and leading the Quality team, the Quality Engineer will provide technical and compliance expertise as part of teams tasked with establishing and assuring system and product quality objectives, in a manufacturing environment.
Working closely with the management team to ensure Quality standards are upheld.
Provide QA technical support for products and manufacturing, corrective and preventive actions, product/process improvements and training. The Quality Engineer will assure compliance to the company Quality Standards and perform quality activities such as data analysis, QMS audits, procedure development, assist with product release, documentation review and implementation of changes to controlled documents.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and lead the quality team, maintaining & improving the current QMS.
* Manage the Returns department, ensuring the correct processes are followed & investigations closed off in a timely manner.
* Lead & Investigate Customer Complaints, using root cause analysis to close issues off, leading quality problem investigations using proven quality tools.
* Continually seek to drive improvements in product and process quality.
* Make decisions that are aligned with management objectives regarding work processes, plans and schedules to achieve the zero-quality escape’s objective.
* Resolve project issues by working with team members, management, suppliers, and others as appropriate.
* Gather and report appropriate KPI’s, analysing data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
* Conduct inspections of raw materials, components, and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
* Identify defects, determine their causes, and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
* Prepare detailed reports on quality performance and compliance.
* Ensure that all processes comply with relevant quality standards and regulations.
* Conduct and report on internal audits as per the annual schedule and close out any non-conformances that arise.
* Work closely with other departments, such as Production and Engineering, to implement quality measures.
Knowledge/Experience/Academic Requirements:
* A level 8 degree (or equivalent) in Engineering / Electronics or related technical field required.
* A minimum of 3 years in a senior Quality role in a manufacturing environment.
* Proficiency in quality control systems, statistical analysis, and inspection procedures.
* Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
* A Lean Six Sigma qualification and Lead Auditor certification a distinct advantage.
* Knowledge of ISO standards and in particular ISO9001:9015, ISO17025, ISO14001 and ATEX certifications.
* Experience in leading notified body audits a requirement.
* Proven abilities on achieving results within assigned deadlines with an ability to prioritize multiple tasks and operate in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to work harmoniously with coworkers and the public.
* Ability to perform duties in accordance with policies and procedures.
* Good judgment/decision making and problem-solving ability, capable of understanding the impact of decision making on both the company and their customers.
* Motivated and a hard-working self-starter with the ability to work under own initiative and with others.
* Fluent written and spoken English a requirement.
Work Location: In Person
Working Hours: Monday-Thursday 8.30am - 5pm, Friday 8.30am - 1.30pm
