Job Description
The Environmental Technician plays a vital role in the Pathogen Laboratory at the Macroom Supply Point.
Main Responsibilities:
* Administration of environmental monitoring programs.
* Execution of environmental monitoring analysis, ensuring compliance with cGLP and SOPs.
* Reporting of results on LIMS and generation of results reports.
* Maintenance of high hygiene standards in the pathogen lab.
* Ordering and stocking consumables.
* Driving Continuous Quality Control Improvement.
* Collecting, preparing, and testing samples as required.
Key Requirements:
* Third-level qualification in Food Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related discipline.
* 1-2 years' experience in microbiological laboratory work within the food industry, preferably in environmental analysis.
* Familiarity with Current Good Laboratory Practice (cGLP) and Good Housekeeping Practice standards.
* Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Technologies and previous experience with Quality Systems.
* Knowledge of quality and food safety legislation, ISO Methods, and PCR Technology is desirable.
This is a fixed-term contract position. The ideal candidate will be flexible and able to adapt to ad hoc duties and projects assigned by the Laboratory Manager.
