GRADUATE HIGHWAYS/TRANSPORTATION/ACTIVE TRAVEL ENGINEER
JOB ROLE
OCSC currently have an opportunity for a graduate position within our Highways, Transportation & Active Travel Engineering Team. This role is seen as an opportunity for a graduate engineer to join our team and continue their professional development across a wide variety of project types with considerable potential for future opportunities within OCSC. Projects range from civil infrastructure projects such as highways and cycle schemes to multidisciplinary engineering projects such as residential, commercial, healthcare and mixed-use developments.
The role will primarily involve working with our Dublin based team but can facilitate a hybrid working system which does not require the candidate to be based in Dublin full time.
Key aspects of the role will include a combination of the following:
* Developing skills in key areas of highways, active travel, and transportation engineering such as geometric design, alignment design, 3D modelling, traffic modelling, transport assessments etc.
* Bespoke training in key engineering software including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Site 3D etc.
* Develop experience with the relevant Irish standards including DMURS, the Cycle Design Manual, TII standards, the Traffic Signs Manual, Traffic & Transport Assessment Guidelines etc.
* Develop key additional skills including Technical Report Writing, Stakeholder Consultation, Effective Communication, Workload Planning and Management etc.
* Work closely with senior engineers and a wider design team of varying backgrounds on a day-to-day basis to develop your skills and experience.
* Participate in our Graduate Training Programme which includes one on one mentoring by a Senior Engineer.
* Opportunity to work on a wide portfolio of projects in both public and private sectors.
* Potential to get involved in contract and tender preparation and management including preparation of contract documents, works specifications, bills of quantities etc.

EXPERIENCE
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following criteria:
* Must hold a degree in Civil Engineering or appropriate equivalent.
* Have an interest in road design and/or transportation engineering.
* Have good communication skills and be proactive in dealing with others.
* Demonstrate a ‘can do’ attitude.
