We are currently seeking to recruit a Health & Safety Manager for a US Project Management firm in Dublin. Our client is relatively new to the Irish and EU market and are using Dublin as their HQ for European operations. Our client operates in the industrial sectors such as the food & beverage market. Some travel to sites will be required.

Responsibilities
8. Promote the company’s safety program (internal/external) ensuring behaviour is fully embedded
9. Foster a culture of safety awareness at all levels
10. Assist in the development of Health & Safety plans as required by project including, but not limited to: Temporary Works, Project Execution, Lifting Plans, Traffic Management, Environmental, etc.
11. Routinely visit and review job sites to ensure adequate staffing and compliance with safety, quality and project expectations.
12. Inspect works in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to safety requirements.
13. Assist all sites teams in administering training and awareness to team members and subcontractors who are non-compliant with the required safety program(s).
14. Develop and maintain health & safety systems and procedures in accordance with Gray’s US established practices but localized for the European market (Irish, UK and mainland Europe).
15. Establish and formalize a root cause analysis processes and procedures for incident investigations.
16. Conduct health and safety audits and seek continuous improvements to existing systems.
17. Develop and conduct suitable risk assessments.
18. Develop and maintain health & safety systems and procedures in accordance with European requirement
Requirements
19. Previous Health and Safety Management experience in a construction environment
20. Relevant educational qualification in Health and Safety
21. Extensive knowledge and experience with H&S regulations and management systems
22. Solid understanding of Irish/UK environmental, health, and safety legislation and regulations.
23. Strong relationship building skills
24. Influencing and negotiation skills
25. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
26. Ability to give direction to team members and foster compliance that is deeply embedded in culture
