Within this role you'll be responsible for leading, defining, and implementing the global Direct Materials Category strategy and regional business needs.
A typical day might include, but is not limited to, the following:
1. Working closely with stakeholders to lead discussions related to the Direct Materials Categories and aligns category priorities with Procurement management and stakeholders.
2. Leading negotiations, supplier management activities, and stakeholder engagement activities for the Direct Materials Category as assigned.
3. Working independently to drive value in terms of cost savings, cash flow improvement, and other efficiency savings from category management activities.
4. Representing Global Procurement by participating in organisational decisions in the Direct Materials categories with critical short and long-term impact on the success, efficiency, growth, and results of the organisation and company.
5. Demonstrating knowledge of efficient global procurement organisations and processes within the biopharmaceutical industry to support the growth and evolution of the Global Procurement organisation and leverages this knowledge to drive improvements within Regeneron, aligned with corporate priorities.
6. Leading category activities to ensure compliance with appropriate GxPs and other applicable regulation.
7. Negotiating contract terms and conditions in consultation with Law department aligned with Regeneron's priorities and business requirements.
8. Managing a team of professional level employees responsible for performing category management tasks.
9. Providing coaching and guidance on job performance and career development to direct reports and provides leadership examples for the organisation.
10. Using data to drive decision-making for successful category projects.
11. Coaching proficiency on procurement technical skills among global procurement team.
12. Providing leadership and support to site based Global Procurement staff across all categories as required.
13. Liaising with site Senior Management and participates in site leadership meetings as needed.
This role may be for you if:
1. You have technical knowledge within the biotech or pharmaceutical sector, coupled with strong relationship building and analytical thinking skills.
2. You have had success in leading cross-functional teams to drive results in Direct Materials categories or related categories through effective sourcing, negotiations, contracting, and supplier relationship management.
3. You can provide expert insight and knowledge regarding rates, unit costs, and costing structures to enable optimal negotiations.
To be considered for this role you must hold a BA/BS degree in a relevant field with 17+ years of professional experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
