Job DescriptionThe role As a NOC engineer in Elio, you will be joining a team building and managing a fast-growing network in terms of speed, density, span, and customer numbers. You will be expected to understand and work with a combination of various wireless technologies, dark and lit fibre, power technologies, and routers. We aim for a high uptime and quick resolution of any issues. To achieve this, we ensure all NOC members have a broad knowledge of all parts of our network, to allow us to determine a cause, and implement any required fix in as quick as time as possible.Within the NOC, you will be dealing with customers, ensuring that for any touchpoints, they are having the best possible service, whether that be a Pre-Sales question from a salesperson, a provisioning call, or when there is an issue with the connection. You’ll be participating in the on-call rota and be work within any major incident response when/if required.You’ll be given an opportunity to research and experiment, finding new technologies and resources which we can implement to ensure that we can continue to grow and continue to be trusted by our customers.Key Responsibilities
Assist in troubleshooting network issues and outages.
Work with network diagnostic tools and software.
Document network configurations, changes, and problems.
Collaborate with the team to enhance network performance and reliability.
Working with multiple types of wireless equipment, lit and dark fibre as well as routers from multiple vendors.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in computer science, Telecommunications, or related field OR 1-2 years’ experience in a network engineer role, preferably in a WISP environment.
Solid knowledge of wireless communication principles, IP networking, and network diagnostic tools.
Knowledge of TCP/IP networking.
Strong problem-solving skills and customer service orientation.
Experience with Linux, scripting, python, or Java is a plus.
Empathy is an absolute must.
