About the Role As an L2 Engineer / Manager in our Network Operations Center (NOC), you will play a crucial role in ensuring high uptime and rapid issue resolution. You’ll work with a diverse array of technologies, including wireless systems, dark and lit fiber, power technologies, and routers. Your hands-on experience will be invaluable as you guide a team dedicated to delivering exceptional service to high-end business customers. In this role, you’ll be more than just a manager—you’ll be a leader and mentor, fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement. You’ll participate in the on-call rotation and lead major incident responses when necessary, ensuring that our customers always receive the best service possible. Key Responsibilities People Management: Lead and develop the NOC team, promoting a collaborative environment where knowledge is shared and growth is prioritised.SOP Development Create and maintain standard operating procedures in collaboration with manufacturers, the operations team, sales, and third-party partners.Technical Education Program: Design and implement training programs for both technical and non-technical staff, keeping everyone updated on industry changes.Customer Engagement: Collaborate with sales and clients to develop tailored connectivity solutions that meet unique business needs.Support and Escalation: Act as an escalation point for complex issues, providing hands-on support to ensure optimal customer experiences.Network Upgrades: Plan and coordinate software and hardware upgrades, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal disruption.Mentorship: Guide junior team members, sharing your expertise and fostering their professional development. This opportunity is a hybrid role, successful candidates will be required to be in the Dublin City Centre office a minimum of 3 days per weekQualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.Experience:3-5 years in a network engineer role, ideally within a WISP environment.Technical Skills: Deep understanding of wireless communication, IP networking, and diagnostic tools. Certifications such as CCNP/CCIE, JNCIP-SP/JNCIE-SP are highly valued.Problem-Solving: Proven ability in project management and mentoring, with a strong track record of effective problem resolution.Technical Bonus: Familiarity with Linux, scripting, or automation tools (e.g., Java, Python, PHP, Ansible, Netbox, Netconf) is a plus.Soft Skills: Strong empathy and interpersonal skills are essential.Language: Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
