Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), you will be a member of the Leadership Team. Your role will be supported by the Financial Controller and Financial Team.
Responsibilities
* Lead and take overall management responsibility for all financial, legal, and governance activity of the organisation ensuring sound financial management and financial controls are in place throughout the organisation.
* Revenue management - Diversify and manage revenue streams to ensure the long-term financial sustainability and independence of the organisation.
* Provide strategic direction and advice to the Board, CEO, and Leadership.
* Lead the Operational Finance team with the support of the Financial Controller.
* Provide regular detailed reports to the CEO on Finance, Legal & Governance matters aligned with policies and procedures.
* Work closely with and support other members of the Leadership Team.
* Ensure sound financial management, financial controls, and compliance throughout the organisation in line with Best Practice.
* Ensure the development of sustainable strategies in relation to assets.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory and other governance returns from across the organisation.
* Oversee Legal / Governance queries where appropriate.
* Deliver on the Action plans agreed for the areas of responsibility and align with Leadership where appropriate.
* Oversee the management of key projects and programmes as assigned by the CEO.
* Any other duties within the general requirements of the above that may be assigned.
What you'll need
* Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, CIPFA or ACCA).
* A successful track record in senior financial leadership with a high level of commercial acumen, in particular the ability to quickly understand drivers for performance.
* Ability to ensure accurate financial reporting in all areas including project and restricted funds reporting.
* Excellent IT skills including advanced Microsoft Excel skills, Accounting Packages, and CRM.
* Proven analytical and modelling skills, with an ability to review and challenge assumptions within detailed financial forecasts.
* Experience working as part of an executive team, exhibiting values-based leadership.
* Experience in developing highly functional teams with an understanding of your own strengths and weaknesses.
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills including the ability to express yourself orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and persuasively and present complex political/technical issues to non-expert audiences.
* Excellent internal and external stakeholder management skills.
* Excellent sense of initiative, ability to set priorities and work under pressure with accuracy and dedication.
* A clear understanding, or the capacity to develop quickly an understanding, of the role of and the importance of effective functions as a strategic contributor to the organisation.
* The ability to conceptualize, innovate, plan, and execute ideas and to transfer knowledge and skills.

* 35 Hour week (core hours 9-5) - Full-time employees can enjoy a 35-hour working week.
