Staff Grade Speech & Language Therapist

Role Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Staff Grade Speech & Language Therapist to join a dynamic team delivering services in an acute hospital setting. The successful candidate will work with adult inpatients presenting with a range of communication and swallowing disorders, contributing to high-quality, person-centred care.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for adult patients with communication and/or swallowing difficulties.

Manage a caseload within an acute care setting, including patients with complex medical and neurological conditions.

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support integrated care planning and discharge processes.

Contribute to service development, clinical audits, and outcome measurement.

Participate in CPD activities and clinical supervision.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in line with professional and legal standards.
Essential Requirements:

A recognised qualification in Speech & Language Therapy.

CORU registration (or eligibility for same).

Clinical experience in the assessment and management of communication and dysphagia in adults.

Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Desirable:
-
Postgraduate training in dysphagia.
-
Previous experience in an acute hospital setting.

Familiarity with outcome measures in speech and language therapy.

Experience using electronic medical record systems.
