Speech & Language Therapist
A dedicated Speech & Language Therapist is sought to join our multidisciplinary team in Sligo, providing essential speech and language therapy services across the Northwest and Western regions of Ireland.
About the Role
As a Speech & Language Therapist, you will play a vital role in assessing, diagnosing, and delivering therapy interventions that enhance the communication and functional abilities of individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct comprehensive speech and language therapy assessments and interventions.
* Develop individualized treatment and support plans based on evidence-based practices.
* Provide therapy services, including communication assessments, diagnostics, and intervention strategies.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure holistic and person-centered care.
* Educate and support families, caregivers, and staff on communication strategies and individual needs.
* Contribute to service development initiatives and quality improvement projects.
* Maintain accurate and timely documentation in line with professional and organizational standards.
* Engage in ongoing professional development and stay updated with best practices in the field.
Essential Criteria:
* A recognised third-level qualification in Speech & Language Therapy.
* Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience, preferably in disability services.
* Registration (or eligibility for registration) with CORU as a Speech & Language Therapist.
* Experience in delivering communication aid programs, such as Lámh.
* Valid Garda Clearance (and Overseas Clearance if applicable).
* Full driver's license with eligibility to drive in Ireland and access to a vehicle.
Desirable Criteria:
* Experience working with children, adults, and families in an interdisciplinary team.
* Advanced clinical skills in assessment, intervention, and diagnostics.
