Our client is seeking an IT Project Manager with a strong background in delivering mission-critical projects in a regulated environment.
This role will lead and manage IT projects, working closely with internal stakeholders and external third-party service providers to establish project plans that consider critical tasks, durations, dependencies, and the successful implementation of new applications, enhancements, and services.
The Project Manager is expected to be autonomous in managing meetings, soliciting agendas, distributing meeting minutes, tracking completion of action items, and providing regular updates on project status.
Key Responsibilities
* Effectively manage a range of projects using project management best practices and following required Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) policies.
* Responsible for project initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closure.
* Conduct business analysis, including gathering requirements through interviews and workshops, documenting current and future models, and creating use cases and test scenarios.
* Identify and report on project success criteria, test and deployment management activities.
* Create and distribute documentation as needed, including Functional Requirements, Business Requirements, Use Cases, and Data Flow Diagrams.
* Serve as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team (external vendors).
* Ensure appropriate IT processes, procedures, and standards are in place and adhered to.
* Ensure schedules, financials, scope, and performance requirements of various projects are met.
* Build and foster effective relationships between the business and IT.
* Oversee vendor relationships.
* Anticipate operational and tactical risks to effectively manage client expectations.
* Manage issues, risks, and organizational change to ensure successful and on-time project delivery; coordinate issue resolution with internal and external technical support providers.
* Introduce best practices and process improvement initiatives where appropriate.
* Support the project team in adhering to computer systems validation compliance requirements.
Requirements
Minimum Education & Experience:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related Science field; Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
* Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
* Proven track record of leading small-to-mid-sized teams.
* Experience with enterprise information management systems and software vendor selection.
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
* Experience working with third-party implementers.
Knowledge/Skills Required:
* Experience working with project management & collaboration tools.
* Strong project management and facilitation skills with the ability to lead project teams through complex requirements sessions and create business requirements documents.
* Demonstrated ability to manage application implementations in a GMP environment.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with executives, managers, subject matter experts, and vendors.
* Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
* Ability to develop and analyze business requirements and functional specifications for business software solutions.
* Highly adaptable, capable of working independently as well as within a team as needed.
