Job Description Retail Horticulture Manager Location: Carlow Salary: Circa €45,000 + KPI Bonus up to €5,000 Employment Type: Full-Time About the Role: We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Retail Horticulture Manager to lead a team of 12 employees, including horticulturalists and sales assistants.
This role is perfect for an experienced Horticulturalist who is ready to take the next step into management or a Retail Manager with a strong background in horticulture.
Key Responsibilities: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of horticulturalists and sales assistants.
Oversee daily operations to ensure a high standard of customer service and plant care.
Manage DIY Department within the Garden Centre. Drive sales and meet key performance indicators (KPIs).
Maintain and enhance the visual merchandising and presentation of the store.
Manage stock, including ordering, goods inward and stock control to maintain a vibrant and well-stocked retail space. Implement sales strategies, promotions, and seasonal product planning. Provide expert advice to customers on plant care, gardening products, and seasonal selections.
Manage budgets, sales targets and performance metrics to drive business growth.
Manage stock levels, supplier relationships, and ordering processes.
Oversee and manage Health and Safety requirements for the garden center/DIY retail areas. Ideal Candidate: A qualified and experienced Horticulturalist with a strong understanding of plant care, garden products, and seasonal trends.
Retail or managerial experience is preferred but not essential – training and development will be provided for the right candidate.
Proven ability to lead a team and deliver excellent customer service.
Strong commercial awareness with the ability to drive sales.
Experience in a similar environment, such as Tirlan or Woodies, would be advantageous.
