Staff Grade Physiotherapist – Primary Care
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Staff Grade Physiotherapist to join our dynamic Primary Care team. This role will focus on providing high-quality physiotherapy services to adults with musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions in a primary care setting. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical expertise in MSK disorders, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team. This primary care centre is based in Co Clare.
Key Responsibilities of a Staff Grade Physiotherapist
1. Provide comprehensive assessments and develop evidence-based treatment plans for patients with a variety of MSK conditions, including but not limited to back pain, joint injuries, and postural issues.
2. Deliver effective manual therapy, exercise prescription, and rehabilitation programs tailored to individual patient needs.
3. Monitor and evaluate treatment outcomes, adjusting care plans as necessary to optimize recovery and patient satisfaction.
4. Educate patients on their conditions and promote self-management strategies to enhance long-term outcomes.
5. Provide advice on injury prevention, lifestyle modifications, and ergonomic solutions for pain management.
6. Work closely with GPs, nurses, advanced practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated, holistic care.
7. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss complex cases and contribute to shared decision-making.
8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in line with professional standards and confidentiality guidelines.
9. Complete relevant administrative tasks, including patient reports and referral letters, in a timely manner.
10. Participate in continuous professional development (CPD) activities, staying up-to-date with the latest research and clinical guidelines in MSK physiotherapy.
11. Contribute to the training and supervision of junior staff and physiotherapy students when appropriate.
Essential Criteria for a Staff Grade Physiotherapist
1. Degree or diploma in Physiotherapy.
2. Must be CORU registered
3. Proven experience working with adult patients in a primary care or outpatient setting.
4. Substantial experience in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of MSK conditions.
