About the Role
The finance team work with every element of the business, building strong relationships with both internal and external business partners. They focus on implementing best practice and provide meaningful management information which inform business strategy decisions.
Your Responsibilities
* Oversee the Sales and Purchase Ledgers on Xero Accounts Package
* Weekly Supplier Payments
* Weekly bank reconciliations
* Bi-weekly Credit Card reconciliations and Monthly Petty Cash reconciliations
* Preparation of quarterly VAT returns
* Assist Financial Controller in the preparation of monthly management accounts and management reports
* Preparation of Margin Analysis by product and client
* Assist Financial Controller in the preparation of forecasts and budgets
* Prepare Ad Hoc Finance reports for Financial Controller
* Prepare Monthly Payroll and Payroll Processing
* Monthly Balance Sheet and P&L reconciliations
* Liaise with key suppliers
* Preparation of monthly accruals, prepayments and fixed assets schedules
* Completion of Statutory Government returns
* Manage monthly staff expenses process
* Work closely with the Group Financial Controller on all key financial aspects of reporting within the business
* Manage variable pay schemes including scheme administration for joiners / movers / leavers, calculation and payment
* Project based work: research and deliver answers to finance-based queries, analyse and improve finance-related workflows across the business
Requirements
* Proven track record: 2-5 year's experience in a busy finance or accounting function, qualified (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification)
* Accounting expertise: capable and experienced in completing full Financial or Management Accounts, experience in month end tasks such as balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries and monthly variance analysis
* Communication skills: confident and skilled to facilitate broad-ranging conversations with people across the business and with external customers
* Exceptional organisational skills and keen attention to detail: work with a high degree of accuracy and effectively plan to ensure that tasks are actioned and followed up to ensure completion
* Numerical and analytical skills: enjoy working with numbers and have an analytical mindset
* Commercial acumen: interested in understanding the business and commercially aware, with knowledge of sales forecasting, commission schemes and revenue recognition policies
* Team-orientated: able to build relationships with the wider Learning Pool team and work together to achieve the team and company goals
